Detailed itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in El Salvador
Welcome at the international airport and transfer to the capital, San Salvador. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in preparation for the adventure ahead.

 Day 2 – Suchitoto
In the morning, depart for a full-day excursion to Suchitoto, a town that blends culture and nature. Start with a walk through its cobblestone streets to admire the colonial architecture, the charming Santa Lucía church, and small artisan shops. Continue with a visit to the Centro Arte para la Paz, a former convent turned cultural center, where art exhibitions and peaceful gardens tell the local history and invite quiet reflection.


At midday, enjoy a traditional Salvadoran lunch at a local restaurant to discover the region’s authentic flavors.


In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Suchitlán to admire the landscape, watch birds, and explore the peaceful islets of this natural reserve. Overnight in San Salvador.

Day 3 – San Salvador and surroundings

Start your day with a visit to the historic center of San Salvador. Explore its iconic buildings, lively squares, and historic monuments that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Salvadoran capital. Continue to El Boquerón National Park, located on the heights of the San Salvador volcano. Take a pleasant walk along its well-maintained trails, enjoy the spectacular views of the crater and the city below, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.


You’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the typical restaurants or cafés located near the park.

In the afternoon, head to Joya de Cerén, a UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site. This pre-Hispanic farming village, preserved in volcanic ash, offers a unique glimpse into the daily life of the region’s ancient inhabitants.


End the day with an authentic experience on a local farm, where you’ll discover the country’s natural and agricultural wealth. Soak in the rural atmosphere and enjoy delicious traditional pupusas served in a charming setting to close this unforgettable day. Overnight in Santa Ana.

Day 4 – Cerro Verde National Park and Tazumal

Begin your morning with a visit to Cerro Verde National Park, one of El Salvador’s most beautiful natural sites. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Lake Coatepeque, one of the country’s most stunning crater lakes, with its turquoise waters nestled in an ancient volcano.

Once at the park, stroll through trails lined with tropical forest, breathe the fresh mountain air, and admire the panoramic views of nearby volcanoes, including the majestic Izalco and Santa Ana.


At lunch, savor a delicious meal at a restaurant offering breathtaking views of Volcán Izalco, nicknamed the “Lighthouse of the Pacific” due to its historic eruptions.


In the afternoon, discover the Tazumal Archaeological Park, one of El Salvador’s most important Mayan sites. Explore its pyramids, ruins, and museum to dive into the history and culture of this fascinating civilization. Overnight in Ataco.

Day 5 – Ataco and the aromas of coffee

Start your day discovering the charming village of Ataco, a gem along the Ruta de las Flores, famous for its colorful streets, murals, and artisan shops. Wander through its lively alleys and soak up the warm mountain village atmosphere.

Then make a stop in Apaneca, another picturesque village nestled in the mountains, known for its cool climate, flowering gardens, and outdoor activities. Next, visit the coffee plantations that have made the region famous. See the coffee trees up close, learn about cultivation techniques, and enjoy the lush green landscapes typical of the area.


At noon, have lunch in the heart of a lush garden surrounded by a wide variety of local flowers, showcasing El Salvador’s rich botanical diversity.

In the afternoon, visit a coffee processing facility to understand the full process, from harvest to roasting. End the experience with a coffee tasting in the village center and savor the unique aromas of Salvadoran coffee. 


Enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace in Ataco: visit art galleries, explore local markets, or relax in a cozy café.

Day 6 – Ruta de las Flores and descent to the coast

In the morning, explore the villages along the Ruta de las Flores. Stroll through the Nahuizalco market, a whirlwind of color, scents, and traditions. This village is home to one of the country’s largest Indigenous communities, renowned for its wooden crafts and lamps made from natural fibers.


In the afternoon, head toward La Libertad and its black sand beaches washed by the Pacific waves. Stop at scenic viewpoints to admire the ocean. Settle in just steps from the sea to witness one of the world’s most beautiful sunsets.

Day 7 – Surf City and coastal relaxation

Enjoy a full day exploring Surf City, a chain of trendy yet laid-back beach villages. Whether you choose to surf, get a massage by the ocean, or sip coconut water in the sun, the Pacific coast invites you to slow down and soak in the moment.
